Journey

Born in the heart of Kanyanya, Uganda, on April 13, 2001, Twaibu Lutaaya, also known as Twaibu Dymez, constructs a vibrant narrative of urban life through his hip-hop and rap. Inspired by the likes of Elly Wamala and the GoodLyfe Crew, as well as global giants such as Lil Wayne and Wiz Khalifa, Twaibu began rapping in primary school. His educational backdrop in Music, Dance, and Drama offered a foundation that would later define his professional pursuit beginning in 2017. Twaibu's self-proclaimed identity as 'One Ghetto Child' drives his storytelling, positioned amidst Kampala's slums where struggle and resilience are common themes. The fusion of hip-hop, trap, and Afrobeats in his music highlights a dynamic versatility, capturing the essence of urban Uganda while contemplating broader universal experiences. As a self-taught songwriter, Twaibu's hunger for creative exploration is palpable, establishing him as a significant presence within the Ugandan music ecosystem.
